COVID-19 (Novel Coronavirus) Preparedness
Chico Natural Foods Cooperative takes the threat of the potential impacts of the coronavirus seriously. We are monitoring the development of the outbreak closely and will consider all recommended precautions to protect the health and safety of customers and staff.
In addition, staff are working to ensure quick responses to changing product needs and availabilities.

WHAT WE ARE DOING AT CHICO NATURAL FOODS COOPERATIVE
We already have many procedures in place to help maintain food and product safety. To complement those procedures, we are implementing more frequent sanitation of carts, baskets, tongs, handles, cash register stands and more.

Customers may bring in their own reusable bags, jars, coffee mugs, and other containers!

Staff Wellness
CNFC requires staff to stay home if they have symptoms. We have ensured that all staff who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19 will have adequate paid leave to stay home for the duration of their illness.
Product Supplies & Case Orders
We are blessed to live in one of the most bountiful and productive agricultural areas in the world. CNFC’s team is working with multiple suppliers, as well as numerous local producers, to ensure that you have ready access to the essential products you need. We are working hard to keep you supplied!
Monitoring availability of products and staple items from our vendors.
We will do our best to maintain our stock of all items, but there could be things we run out of in between orders and deliveries or if they become unavailable for us to order.

Watching for updates from National Co-op Grocers, our suppliers, the CDC and other entities. There is a lot that is not known at this point so this information will probably change and get updated as we move forward.
We’re In This Together
The world is a strange place right now. We’re all having to adjust our lives in order to better protect ourselves, our loved ones, and our community from a global pandemic. Fortunately, being mindful, kind, and patient can go a long way to making this unexpected journey of ours smoother.
Take care of yourself. Eat healthy, rest, give yourself a break from the constant stress of news and social media.
Practice social/physical distancing. Give everyone (even Co-op employees!) plenty of space (6 feet!). We can help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by giving one another lots of personal space.
Practice good hygiene. Wash your hands frequently. Cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze (and not with your hands!). Disinfect shared surfaces.
Stay home when you can! All of California is under a “Shelter In Place” order. We know it’s tough, but try to limit your excursions out into the world.
Be patient. We’re all feeling the stress of the world a little more harshly these days. And one can never be sure what troubles the person in front of you is facing. Be kind and patient with folks when you can, and we can help one another through these challenging times together.
